What offences exist in the field of sex work at national level?

Many sex workers are unsure about what’s allowed and what isn’t. You’re not alone in this. We'll show you a few examples here.

Contact us if you’re unsure, or if you can’t find an example for your situation on our website. It would be impossible for us to write down every situation. We’ll be happy to inform you about your rights.

Can you give me some examples of criminal offences?

  • No one is allowed to demand that you work without a break and without days off.
  • No one is allowed to ask you to work without a condom. This also applies to oral sex.
  • No one is allowed to demand that you serve every client. No boss, no friend, no partner.
  • No one is allowed to demand that you hand over all of your money. This applies to friends, colleagues, bosses and bar owners. If someone promises to keep your money safe for you, they’re often lying.
  • No one is allowed to forbid you from having contact with your children because you earn too little or no money.
  • No one is allowed to monitor your work with a camera. Cameras are prohibited in the room where you provide your services.
  • If a client removes a condom without your consent or without telling you, this is considered to be rape from a legal perspective.

Rape, exploitation, physical or psychological violence, coercion, blackmail and theft are all criminal offences. No one is allowed to force you to do anything.
