What is the deductible?
The deductible is the share of the costs you pay yourself in addition to the excess (10% per invoice). But you only pay up to a certain amount (a maximum of 700 Swiss francs a year).
Example of a deductible
Mr Meier is ill.
He goes to his GP,
who examines him and prescribes medication.
Mr Meier soon feels better.
The GP sends Mr Meier a bill
for 100 Swiss francs.
The health insurance company pays 90 francs towards the bill,
while Mr Meier pays 10 francs
(the 10% deductible).
